Questions we are often asked

The honey has hardened in the jar: has it gone bad?

No, it has simply done its job. Honey that has not been heated crystallizes by itself, sooner or later: acacia almost never, clover and orange quickly. If you prefer it liquid, place the jar in a bain-marie of warm water, below 40 °C. Any hotter and it spoils, which is exactly why we do not heat it ourselves before selling it.

How should I store it?

Closed jar, in the pantry, away from light and heat sources. Not in the fridge: the cold speeds up crystallization without adding anything.

What sizes do the honeys come in?

All honeys are available in 50, 250, 500 and 1000 gram jars. The 50 gram jar is the size used for wedding favors and place cards. Acacia honey also comes in a 350 gram squeeze bottle.

Can it be given to children?

Not before one year of age: this is the recommendation of the Italian Ministry of Health and it applies to any honey, not only ours. After the first year, no problem.

Why is the color not always the same?

Because the bloom is not always the same. Wildflower honey in particular changes every year with what the bees found in flower in September: it is the same reason why we add nothing and do not filter to make it uniform.

What honey is in the Gold Line?

Acacia honey from our own production, the same you find in our jars: it is the most delicate of the nine, and it does not overpower the ingredient it is paired with (truffle, hazelnuts, cocoa).
